Get to know the DOL’s Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (VETS)

DOL’s Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (VETS) “Serves Veterans and Service Members! We Provide Resources and Expertise to Assist and Prepare them to Obtain Meaningful Careers, Maximize their Employment Opportunities, and Protect their Employment Rights.”

Recently the DOL announced grants of nearly $900,000 to the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service National Technical Assistance Center to support the reintegration of the nation’s homeless veterans into meaningful employment.

For federal contractors this is the department where you submit your Vets-100/Vets-100A reports.   Reminder they are due Sept. 30th.

For assistance with your Veterans outreach programs, VETS provides the VETS Fact Sheet which helps employers understand and provides links to Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Programs (DVOP) and Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVER).  In addition they provide links to local professionals that help employers find qualified veterans .

For questions and information on regulations VETS provides the e-vets Resource Advisor, and a page dedicate to USERRA requirements.
