New DOL Pay Equity Initiatives

As part of the White House Middle Class Task Force forum, the Secretary of Labor Hilda J. Solis announced new initiatives intended to focus on wage discrimination and pay equity.

The OFCCP’s role in these new initiatives will be to publish an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking early next year requesting input on how to improve the Equal Opportunity Survey.  The EO Survey was a tool used by the OFCCP to identify federal contractors for further investigation and was discontinued after a study proved it was not a good predictor of noncompliance.
